Juan Miranda, LICSW
Throughout my +10yrs of working in community mental health, I have had the opportunity to work with people experiencing some of the most difficult challenges that life can create. My work is guided by development of a strong therapeutic foundation and alliance with the individual that blends elements of philosophy, psychotherapy, and effective implementation of evidence-based interventions.
I have worked in residential facilities for co-occurring mental health and substance related issues; intensive outpatient programs for those experiencing perpetual crisis states; outpatient programs for child and family counseling; mental health intervention and assessment services at the Whatcom County Jail and Juvenile Detention Center; outpatient programs for adolescents and adults experiencing co-occurring substance use and mental health related issues.
I completed my certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in 2022 through the Harborview Trauma Center in Seattle, WA.
I completed the basic Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training through the EMDR Institute in December of 2023.
